I’m looking for any advice really as I’m not sure where I go next. It’s a long one!

Ive been at a small company for two years now, it was a far bigger step up career wise than I realised from the recruitment process, on one level I love my job on the other it’s hard and I feel under valued, my line manager is great but the boss who line manages the other team only seems to see my mistakes - she oversees the parts of my role I’m inexperienced and struggling with - she doesn’t see the 80% of my role that I’m good at.

My counterpart in the team has just handed in her notice, she also loved the work but is burnt out and decided to take a very small pay cut for a much less pressurised job.

With her gone, long term it opens up my career pathway BUT I’m really struggling and envy her opportunity, I’ve more ties and will be freeer to take a less flexible role in a few years but unsure if I should also jump now or speak up and point out I’ll be going soon if things don’t get better - they are already talking about the opportunities of development moving into my colleagues role - she line manages where as I am more project management - but no one can see what I can loose to do more - other than up my hours - I absolutely cannot work at this intensity full time (I’m .8) but working 100-110%.

Do I keep doing what I’m doing for another year? And keep looking for something else?
Take the development opportunities knowing it’ll help me get a better job in 18 months - but risk falling over in the meantime.
Talk to them about how they’ve lost an amazing employer as they are expecting too much and try to restructure the team/responsibilities or wait till they struggle to recruit on the salary they will be offering.

They want to jump into recruitment this week as we will struggle loosing a person but I honestly feel if they don’t stop and think it’s just putting off a bigger problem.
