What is your commute like

As the title says what is your commute like and how do you find it?

Mine is currently 30 minutes in the car. I am home by 5.30 but am considering taking a better paid job which would mean I will be home at 6.30. I have children and I feel guilty that they will see me less. I would be gone from 7.30am to 6.30pm. Childcare not an issue. Thanks.

I leave at 8 am, get home around 5:30pm two days a week, and around 6:30 PM two days a week. Travel time varies from 25 to 45 minutes depending on traffic.

DH commutes by train, also leaves around 8 and gets back around 7, but has the option to work at home depending on meetings.

Previous job I needed to leave the house at about 6.40am and was home by about 5. 30 minute drive each way.

I took a small pay cut last year to work somewhere I can walk to and I also get to do some of the school drop offs and pick ups. My dcs are still quite young, so it was worth the small drop in pay. Conveniently, I prefer my current role too

30 / 35 min each way
Bit much when shifts are over 9 hrs too

3.5-4 hour round trip. Some days I don't get home until nearly 7pm. I only do it a couple of times a month. I couldn't do it every day.

I'd like a job locally, but there aren't any and I like my job.

From home, 6 minutes by car. I drop DS at the school bus beforehand so the whole trip takes a quarter of an hour.

I'm usually in work by 8am and we're home by 5.30.

After years of sitting in traffic, it's a joy to drive 4 rural miles. My stress level has plummeted. 😊

My commute is actually lovely. It's a 40 minute walk through woods and over some fields (despite living in a city). I do it in all weathers, use a torch in winter and change my shoes at work if muddy. It's my favourite part of my day.
