Will this prevent me from getting agency work as a TA?

Hi all! I’m starting work soon as a TA with a new agency (other one was terrible) and they are just waiting on my DBS to come in and then I can get out there.

I mentioned a few weeks ago to them I wouldn’t be comfortable going to a certain school, and had to email my manager again today about one last school I won’t go to. I didn’t go into details but essentially it’s an environment I wouldn’t feel comfortable in like the first one.

This won’t stop them or put them off giving me work, will it? I’m willing to go absolutely anywhere else, just not to those 2 schools. I think I’m over thinking but some advice and reassurance would be great. Thank you :)

I wouldn’t have mentioned it until I was asked to go. But it’s perfectly normal to have schools that you don’t want to to go to. Maybe it’s because of a bad experience but maybe it’s because your nephews go there or your ex boyfriend lives on the same street.

You are there as agency

They are a biz that make money from placing you

I’m a supply teacher and I’ve told my agency the names of several schools that I’ll not attend. They still send me to plenty of places.

Hi all! Thank you for the messages. Everything is fine and Im expected to get out to work hopefully next week! (DBS delays on stage 4 lol) they did ask for a reason why which I happily provided.

Yeah, I get that! I just always tell my agencies first before they send me anywhere so it doesn’t waste their time I guess if I have to turn it down and so it’s on their system, but then again they could just find someone else!
