Posting here as I’m sat in work losing my mind.
But of background- At school I was smart, top for everything, then went to uni with no careers advice and studied History (passion of mine).
Finished uni but didn’t go into a career as I started caring for my dying mother.
She died and while I dealt with grief and tried to sort myself out I got a job as a secondary school librarian which progressed to a bit of marketing, tutoring, English teaching and admin stuff.
Then fell pregnant and passed a masters in history on maternity leave.
Now have 2 kids and work as a school manager. Okay pay and lots of holidays but I’m bored. There’s no job satisfaction and my team are all older and moan about everything.
I want a career change but as my OH is a nurse with long hours, and we have financial commitments, I’m reluctant to do anything that will put a strain on things. My kids are 2 and 6 so have school runs etc to consider.
Looked into teacher training but I just don’t have the hours.
Would love a role where I’m with better company, job progression, decent pay and a degree of flexibility. Am I dreaming? Or should I be happy with my lot until the kids are older?
