AI is ruining job seeking

Many companies scan CVs using AI software and it picks up keywords/buzz phrases.

From my experience, AI does not understand transferrable skills. As I have applied for jobs which I have done elements of the job in last job and previous ones. Get rejected.

Seen job listings back in Nov/Dec which are now listed now. Did they get the wrong staff from AI? Also companies need to look at staff turnover since the introduction of AI in recruitment. If more new starters leave since AI, then these companies should ditch AI and use human eyes instead.

The thing is been told not to use AI in creating CVs as it looks false and doesn't flow. Yet companies scan CVs with AI.

OP, I've also seen this happening over a longer period of time - my DH has been looking for work for nearly 2 years, (I help him with job search) and I see the same companies, with the same jobs, coming up time after time.

You may be surprised to learn many of these are 'fake jobs' - companies are advertising jobs to give the impression they are successful and growing; they may also be doing market research or advertising jobs as a way of keeping current staff on their toes. Some are CV harvesting for a future pool of talent, and there are even others who are running actual recruitment scams. It’s so frustrating.

I don’t apply for jobs I know I can’t do.

I read the job description, do my research, I tailor my CV, write a thoughtful covering letter and then get rejected 15 minutes after hitting send.
