Your awful job application form stories

Applying job on NHS (admin role). Every job I put down since my previous job, it wants phone number, job title I reported and salary. I don't remember these and certainly the job titles of who I reported to. This only should apply for current or last job. Just putting supervisor, team leader and manager in these boxes.

They use it for referencing if you get the job don't they?

I once started an application for a job that had a 3 page application which required written answers for a load of scenario based questions... I gave up 😂

Well I’m 45 and most of the earlier companies I worked in have closed down or been taken over. The others can only provide me with a ‘stayathomer worked here’ letter because nobody I worked with is still there!!

All the companies I worked for bar the last company don't exist anymore. The buildings still stand but one place I was at 18 years ago has had 2 more organisations using the building since and it's boarded up back in June last year, according to Streetview.

I was with my last employer for 17 years.

For my current job I had to provide proof I worked for a previous company as they went bust about five years ago. Granted this was after I'd been offered the job but digging around for payslips and bank statements that proved my start and end dates was a bit of a pain.

My DS was applying for grad jobs earlier this year - the various application portals were so frustrating.
Given that he had a very specific degree, that was a specific requirement of most of the positions he was applying for, you'd think that the employers would have made sure that the drop down list of degrees actually included the specific one required. And no, there wasn't a 'other' box, or manual fill allowed.

The worst though was one were the parent company was Spanish so the application used their portal. Despite having companies across the globe, the portal only had Spanish qualifications for each stage!
