Small office

i’ve worked remote for 6 years.
Had an interview for a job face to face, saw that the office is very small and very quiet like you could hear a pin drop.
I’d be in the office 3 days per week …I just felt eek not sure I could sit in silence in such a small place…

When I was last in an office it was a big company like a big corporate office not sure I can do it …be in a small office 3 days where ever movement would be noted …seems stifling !

Did you ask if that's a typical day for them? Where I work, people quite often intentionally book interviews on quiet days, mostly so you can actually get a room. People will be on their best behavior if they know there are interviews running as well 😁 The office varies hugely from day to day as well - sometimes you can hear a pin drop, sometimes you have to choose whether to communicate with the person at the next desk via Teams or screaming.

can you wear head phones,
you might need the quiet to concentrate?

I just seemed deadly quiet 🤫 and not busy or buzzy …I’ve always been in big offices like hundreds of people …not sure a tiny place is for me ..🤔

I work on a very small office - only 2 desks but today l couldn't hear myself think as there was about 7 people all louder than each other!

But l get what you mean op.

guess I’ve been at home so long that it seems like an eek moment to step into a small world …if that make sense where if u need toilet or want a coffee it’s all clocked and no buzz about the place ….
