Hi ladies!

I really need some advice on childcare.

I intend to return to work when my LO is a year old roughly and my job is shift work made up of six shifts which are-
—2 x dayshifts (7-4)

  • 2 x backshifts (2 til midnight)
  • 2 x night shifts (10 til 7)
  • Then four days off
My partner works Monday to Friday 830 until 4.

we will be using a nursery but they needed set days so have put in for Mondays and Tuesdays. I intend to submit a flexible working application on my return to work but have NO clue on where to start to make things easier. Does anyone have any experience of doing this and what did they find helpful? TIA

Would you consider a childminder? They may be more flexible with hours they can offer to cover your shifts?

That’s a good shout, it’s always more money isn’t it but luckily I can afford it when I’m back at work. It just seems like a lot of stress now but I know it’ll work out
