Working from home abroad in civil service

Hi.

I'm got a new job work through an agency in the civil service. In which most of the time im working from home. Can i go abroad lets say for 1 week whilst working from home on the laptop?

At mine it's treated as gross misconduct unless you have special permission.

No due to tax implications. Doing so would be a sackable offense.

Considered gross misconduct in my department as well. The lovely part of this is that when you are on holiday overseas I cannot check in on work even if i wanted to (unlike DH who is expected by his company to be available all the time)

Yes, it does encourage me to leave the country for as much of my annual leave as possible. My boss has my personal number so they can get hold of me in an emergency but it's way easier than when I was in a commercial place and had to take my laptop on holiday. (I left sharpish.)
