What did you do with your time?

I was made redundant and put on garden leave. I have been madly looking for jobs and it’s been a good week but am becoming a bit over obsessed with looking at my inbox. I have been walking the dog but how do I make best use Of this time as it’s the first time I’ve had some time for myself (though cannot afford to be out of work more than 6 months). The house needs some TLC as does the garden. I want to ensure I get another job but also enjoy the fact I can enjoy the spring!

I ironically did a lot of gardening!

Allocate your Day times to:

Job searching
Job applying
Gardening
Walking
Household TLC

I'd also use rainy days for specifically indoor tasks and re-assign those hours to outdoor things when weather is nice

Good luck in finding a job!

Volunteered at a playgroup
Helped a friend with disabled children
Coffees and walks with friends
Charity shop volunteering
Big House jobs - decorating and decluttering
Holidays
Time at my caravan

I would do a house decluttering, look at any diy or decoration jobs that are needed, read, do the garden, volunteer at something, basically clean and organise.

I’d also create some sort of timetable because if I just wander aimlessly through the days my mental health goes on a deep dive to hell.

Set a routine; excercise, mindfulness, reading, job search, shores, perhaps some online courses. Whatever you enjoy.

Good Luck
