I’m currently off work with stress. Don’t really want to go into details here but I’ve got a good case for constructive dismissal.

However after having had the time to think I just want to leave. The thought of being back in the building makes me ill.

My GP wanted to sign me off for two months which is my notice period and she will happily do this. But I’m so torn between should I hand notice in and remain off and continue using this time to job search. Or hand notice in but go back and ride out the last two months, whilst letting it affect me mentally again.

I honestly don’t know what’s best, the nearer my return date gets the more I’m starting to get symptoms back again.

If your off with stress presumably your not in a good place to resign and look for a new job just yet. Your possibly feeling misplaced work place guilt? I was caught up in similar my colleague put in bullying grievance against my boss she was signed off and then found new employment but she’s persuing constructive dismissal and is so stressed by everything her health suffered. As she involved me my boss and colleagues started to turn against me. I think if anyone knows you in real life family/ friends they are probably best to talk things over. I’ve left my work on bad terms because it was making me feel bad everyday I returned to the office after one week being off sick I thought I could smooth a return to work but I was shocked at management attitude they wanted me out were rude to me in closed meeting I handed in my resignation as I couldn’t face it anymore I knew I did the right thing as I am no longer feeling sick at the thought of being there. It depends on your financial circumstances though.
