Hi.

Can any nurses help me out please? Due to revalidate for the first time in a few months. Just getting my CPD together. It says 35 hours? I think I’ve done more?…do you record everything you’ve done or just demonstrate to them the 35 hours?

thanks

As long as you have at least 35 hours on there it doesn’t matter. Some people like to document everything, others put the bare minimum

I put the most relevant or the ones that I have either found most useful or enjoyable.

The dull as dishwater, pointless rubbish doesn’t make the cut.

first of all well done on starting it a few months in advance, I just submitted my first one yesterday (was due by today), it snuck up on me and it took way longer than i thought it was going to! anyway to answer your question, I definitely read somewhere on the NMC site you just keep adding them in until you hit 35 then stop!

I use the RCN online platform to record everything so that it's all in one place and portable.

I've known people who have been unable to access certificates etc that are stored on their trust's learning platform once they've changed job and so I always email any learning to myself and add it to my portfolio.

It doesn't matter that it's more than 35 hours and it's a useful reminder of what you have done when you apply for other jobs.
