Looking for work and it seems nigh on impossible…age is definitely an issue too.

Was supposed to have an interview this week got told 2 weeks ago I was picked but they couldn’t interview until this week….fair enough I thought.

Now told it won’t be this week may be next week…doesn’t fill me with confidence it will happen…it’s a temp role so not even perm, tempted to say forget it as it’s no way to treat people. Either they want to recruit or they don’t…keeps being pushed back.

Ghosted by agents too all over your then they don’t call back etc discuss a role they are keen them won’t pick up calls or reply to any emails…

when did it become so blooming difficult 😞 to get a role….

Going by LI the number of applicants for most jobs is well over 100 probably way more…

I started thinking about applying to be a librarian, but I'm certainly not qualified...

Same here. There was one started rolling before Christmas and had two rounds interviews in January. Had to chase the agent multiple times before being told they went for another candidate who "has more experience".

Then two other roles, just slowly moving through nearly two months now. One with two rounds of interviews, but I don't think I stand a chance. The other started before Christmas too and still waiting to hear if I passed the first round. Like you said, as if they can't make up their own mind.

Currently job is a dead end with lots of unpleasantness everyday. My line manager wouldn't even want to talk to me, but through another young sales girl. All politics. I so want to leave. But it is so hard!

I don't even know of the next place would be any better!
