Easy or challenging jobs with young DC

I have a very easy fully remote job. Lots of responsibility which I can handle, but not enough to do day-to-day and I am bored out of my mind. I was ambitious before this and always promoted but this place doesn’t do promotions, no senior positions ever become available.

I have a young child, and this job is perfect for the flexibility. Any new job would likely require more travel and more stress, but I could get a significant pay rise to go part time if I change sector (full time now).

Has anyone taken the leap from a comfortable job in the early years, to something more challenging? I spend far too much time searching for new jobs but never have the guts to apply as I fear not being here for DC. But I literally spend hours a day feeling anxious about my current lack of growth, I can’t just appreciate the quiet times despite trying!

I have no advice but replying as I'm in a similar position. I'm working a low stress job that is quite a step down from my pre maternity role. My stress level is about the same though because I'm so stressed about it being a dead end! I'm currently applying for other roles, think I'd rather earn more money for work based stress tbh.

It’s good to hear someone else who understands this is a form of stress too! I hope you find something that works for you.
