Long shot - but does anyone work as a Field Interviewer for the ONS / Civil Service?

I've been offered a job but they're rather ... vague on what I actually have to do and the hours especially

So thought I'd ask here on the off chance!

Hi OP, ex ONS field interviewer of 5 years here. How are you getting on in the role?

Reading this has been really helpful as I’m starting training for this role in a week (newly retired teacher getting a bit restless already!).
I’ve been bothering over whether to go ahead or not as I wasn’t sure if it would end up being cold calling and lots of travel outside of your paid hours. This has put my mind at rest somewhat and I think I’ll give it a go and see how it works out…..
