Return to work after mat leave

Hello

My request to work part time after mat leave has been turned down.

I cannot bear the idea of leaving my baby for more than a couple of days in nursery and we have no family around that can look after her - plus I want to be present for her at least a couple of days.

Am I pathetic for wanting to quit my job?

My flexible work request was turned down on my last maternity leave. I tried to reduce my days from 5 to 4. To be fair the role I do needs to be full time. I went back full time fairly easily and slim very close to my older son. He's just started school holidays so that will be problematic once I return from my second maternity leave. I find work easier than looking after children tbh. You could look for another job now if you can afford it. It's not pathetic at all. I find it quite hard to find part time jobs that aren't very low paid.
