Redundancy - did you tell your colleagues?

At risk. Could be put on garden leave in 2 weeks time! I’m a team lead and it’s going to be bad news for them! Did you tell your team? I’d hate not to say goodbye but equally could they withhold payment ?

Withhold payment for what? Depends what has been agreed to receive the payment.

Why can’t you tell them/say goodbye?

At the moment, you are boxing at shadows - it hasn't happened (yet).

But if it does, remember that you haven't been made redundant, your job has - you were just unfortunate to be the incumbent at the time. So there's nothing to be ashamed of, no reason not to discuss (celebrate) with your team. It was the company's decision.

Also remember that there is often an element of survivor's depression amongst those remaining. Say goodbye and wish them luck! Then head off into the sunset with your head high, to promote your experience to another company that needs it more.

Why is it going to be bad news for your team? They might be glad to get shot of you! 😁

You need to keep in mind that you might have confidentiality provisions in a settlement agreement and so I wouldn't tell anyone until you know the situation.

You mean you know they are going to be made redundant but they don't know yet?

I was threatened with them withholding my enhanced redundancy package if I told anyone.
