Off work and going back

Hi going back to work after 5 weeks of fractured ribs and chest infection. My manager said a staggered return however on Friday she said we will face a risk assessment on Monday and just be careful. Does that mean straight back in to full days as she never mentioned it on Friday. Never had time off and returned after a long time off. I am still in pain and tired

I've just returned to work after a broken ankle / surgery. I have 2 weeks half days and 2 weeks @ 75% and a risk assessment has been completed.

You should have a phased return too.

As I said below don't have to pay full pay , legally it can be prorata according to hours worked. Presumably if you work in a school taking al to offset any unpaid hours is not an option.

So sorry to hear @Carol52 - you need to rest and get fully better.

I think it depends on your contract. In my place you do get full pay on staged returns AFAIK but I think someone upthread said they didn't.

Ask your manager?

But it sounds like you need to be fully off to recover now?
