I'm looking to retrain into a complementary health role. I was deliberating between nursing, which is something I have thought about for many years, or doing something more holistic. My husband works away a fair bit and we relocate from time to time and so I don't have the support at home which would make nursing extra difficult. A friend of mine has recommended getting my nursing qualification and then seeing how I feel after that, she feels it may make me a more credible holistic therapist, if that's the route i then want to go down, but i'm mid 40's and it seems like many years of training.
I have a science background and like to know that my offerings are generally evidence based. I wondered what holistic therapies are most in demand. I've considered reflexology / aromatherapy (perhaps linked with massage)/ herbal medicine / acupuncture. I am looking for a career that I can work around my family, like so many others!
If anyone has some advice, that would be most welcome. Thank you
