Management style

I have a recent change in management. My previous manager was introvert and was happy for me to reach out to other seniors in the company and work with them directly. He still led the team well and was well respected. I have a new manager who enjoys talking with others. It seems like he wants to keep all the communications with seniors to himself. He calls me and asks me updates on various topics and situations and then he goes and communicate with higher above. Any thoughts on how to work with this management style???

I'd keep on as you did before, assuming the other seniors were fine with that (maybe that's what you could clarify with your manager?). Email seniors and cc your manager.

It’s hard to swallow but you’re going to have to respect the boundaries your new line manager sets in place if they want to
liaise with the seniors themselves….maybe it’s just temporary whilst they gauge the lay of the land and in a few months they’ll realise yiu are capable and/or not a threat, or maybe they won’t and then you’ll have to decide what you want to do.

Thanks for for you comments
Sometimes it's good to hear from others on the same thoughts you are thinking.
