Contacting recruiters - boss is connected on linkedin

A recruiter posted a job I would potentially be interested in. It’s the same role as I am going for internally. I thought I would try and find out the name of the company through emailing the recruiter anonymously but they won’t reply without a CV.

I looked up the recruiter on linkedin. My boss/the recruiting manager is also a connection, but then so are a fair few others. Do you think it’s the same job?

Is it risky to still contact the recruiter incase they tell my boss?

It could well be the same job. Recruiter won't get a fee for an internal appointment so they might not be very helpful but no harm in checking.

I'm sure they would be discreet even if they know your boss as that's a basic in recruitment.
