Fallen into a trap …

So, over the past year, I’ve found myself moving further and further away from any work life balance. I don’t have a partner, or children, and live on my own … So, I think it’s became really easy to just slip into the habit of throwing everything into work.

I now that I’m working all day on the weekdays, and then burnt out doing nothing all weekend. I feel like a robot who now just lives to work - And feel a bit stuck!

It’s difficult to see friends and family at the weekends because they all live far away. Anyone been here before? How did you get out of it?

Could you meet halfway? Maybe a pub lunch or picnic when the weather permits.

Could you join a class, a hobby like crafting or a gym class. It’ll give you a commitment to stop you working during that time but if you attend regularly you’ll likely make friends in your area

Try the Bumble app friends section to meet people who live locally? I had a similar issue as most of my friends moved away. Getting more local friends is the answer rather than trying to travel to see the old ones all the time.

Are you trying to get some balance back to your life by working less?

Are you forced to work long hours due to workload? If so, then this needs fixing before you look at your leisure time.
