Calling project managers

We are just coming to the end of the project year and some suppliers haven't sent their invoice. If the invoice is paid after year one has come to an end, can that spend still be counted as part of year one?

It will depend on whether you're using cash or resource based accounting - hopefully you have finance people who can help you sort this?

Yes depends on how your company works but normally you can accrue the spend. Happens all the time especially around year end as financially projects don’t always work to the timeline. Normally if you accrue you will be give me a time to close those accruments.

Thank you all for your advice which is very reassuring. I was massively panicking as one supplier is notoriously slow to invoice or doesn't invoice at all (they mustn't need the money!) and I haven't had time to chase them. In reality, if I didn't chase them they'd probably not bother about payment, but I don't want to take that risk and them then asking for payment further down the line. Thanks again. You've put a great worry off my mind.
