Anyone else feel like this? I can barely be bothered to do anything! Can I start a group? I remember when I was pregnant and joined a group, I have never laughed so much in my life. I'm 62 and dyspraxic, so changing job is not an option.

Ask your manager for a side project if you’ve got time and energy to give.

Do you have enjoyable things to do outside work? Nothing wrong with working to live but it’s only fair to put the work bit in.

I don't have anything outside of work, but have just signed up for line dancing next week! DS is at Uni and DD starts Uni this year, so it will be even worse.

Line dancing sounds fun! What else can you do now that more of your time is your own? Language evening class, yoga, put all their stuff away til they’re back and turn the room into a craft room?

Hahaha. I feel you! I WFH full time for a US company to support the growth in the UK/Europe... however the goalposts keep being moved and we're not actually seeing much growth rn 😂 It's a weird situation because they don't want me to leave and go through the hiring process again in a few months, I don't want to leave because the project is incredibly exciting and will be fab for my career when it actually happens... but I am spending a lot of time on mumsnet and on redecorating my house!

AuntieMeemz · 22/01/2025 16:22

SoScarletItWas I just might do that. I have a creation station in the garage, but it's too cold to go inthere. Might move to a bedroom.

LittleRedRidingHoody That sounds interesting. My job is deadly, deadly dull and repetitive. There was a problem in the system and there is a massive backlog. Before this, I could afford to take time out here and there but now I have to work all day! I had started a 'secret' retirment, ie fitting in other things in my day, hopefully I can get back to that. Good idea to do some decorating though, will think more about that.

I used to have a great time seeking out mega cheap trips and planning them. (Recently seen Budapest and Tirana for next to nothing).

You have to work all day? OMG, you poor thing! 🤦‍♀️

I go to an art group one evening a week. It's for autistic adults and the ethos is no demand or obligation. Bloody love it, cos I leave adulting and responsibility at the door when I go in.

Mabelface - brilliant, thats it! I'm going to find one near me.
