Dealing with a useless manager

I have been in my current role for 2 years. I am managed by 1 person and I am the only person they manage. My manager takes so long to respond to my messages but I can see that they are responding to others in group chats on teams etc about random things.

Another thing they do is use "we" when deligating work to me. As in "we should do ....." when it's really me doing all the work? I've bit my tongue on that but it really grinds my gears. They also expect me to work past my hours if they are late to send me something (that they have had knowledge about for days or more) and it's usually on a Friday at 4.30pm. I had to stand up for myself here and say I had to work late 2 Fridays in a row and the response was "you can use that as flexi leave another day" and my response was "that isn't the point." But onto the main bit that really annoyed me.

Not only did they take 6 weeks to approve my 4 days off over Christmas (again they only "manage" me) but when we had a face to face chat the other day they were showing me something on teams and I noticed they have muted my teams chat to them?

Is it just me or is that not really rude. I was the only one muted on the entire chat log that I could see. I'm under the impression they aren't my biggest fan and maybe feel threatened as I'm about 20 years younger and have accomplished a lot in my 2 years at the organisation?

I am thinking of leaving because of them being an absolute nuisance to work with and the pay isn't as great as similar roles elsewhere.

Advice on dealing with a manager like this until I find something new?

HR or go above their head to their manager - if you are leaving anyway you have nothing to
lose.

You don’t deal with them. You should just leave.
