New sector, unsupportive manager

Hi All,

Some advice. Not sure if I'm being dramatic. I feel im good at what i do but I 6 months ago I recently moved to a different sector which is taking some time to adjust and learn.
My manager isn't very supportive. She's a nice person but just not a good manager. On various occasions when I've asked her to review my work, I can tell she really doesn't want too and had made comments about the amount times she's looked at this and it's time wasting for the both of us. She's also told me not to ask my colleague for help as they're busy and to ask her. She's not very approachable and it's knocked my confidence. I can't really speak to anyone else, it's a small company and she's besties with senior management. Not sure if I should suck it up or leave. I have mortgage etc but can mange for about 3 months without a job.

Thanks for reading if you got this far. Any advice is welcome!

Oh to add, I'm going through infertility and possibly considering ivf. Which in itself is very stressful. :(

Stab in the dark here but could she feel out of depth with managing you and doesn’t quite know what to do … but doesn’t want you to see help from anyone else, for fear of that making her look bad.

Possible?

@Nicecuppatea2025 I doubt it, she doesn't come across has she's out of her depth. If that is the case then I wouldn't be able to progress.
