Sciatica and Bradford score

Hi, could someone please explain the Bradford Score to me?
I suffer with long term sciatica. I have the occasional flare up which last anything from a couple of weeks to 3 months. Thankfully in my current job (only been there 6 months) I've not yet needed any sick time off due to my sciatica or any other sickness leave.
Obviously, I do everything possible to reduxe my risk of flare ups. I have physio abs I'm very active, go to the gym and swimming.
But when a flare up strikes, there's nothing I can do except manage it with pain relief and physio.
This new-ish role I'm in is NHS admin.
What would be my rights? Being a long term and degenerative condition (damaged spinal disk), would my sciatica condition be viewed as a protected characteristic?
I'm otherwise healthy.
