MOJ start date

Hi,

I passed my vetting last week and received emails of thank you for accepting a vocal offer etc we will contact you shortly for a start date. I haven’t heard anything yet - which I must admit is abit deflating after going through vetting!

The problem is I haven’t heard anything since I got a phone call for the provisional offer. Is the lack of contact usual? For those in the MOJ and civil service how long did you have to wait for a start date after passing vetting? Thank you!

Honestly it’s a “how long is a piece of string” one. It really depends, it could be a couple weeks or a couple months for your start date.

That’s what I was thinking. I’m hoping it won’t be a couple of months though!

Public sector recruitment is appalling. The local hirers are usually fine, but then it all disappears into an ether for weeks or even months. It's good that you've passed vetting as we've had people give up and go elsewhere after their offer stalling at that stage for months on end.

I can see why people have given up to be honest and I know I haven’t been waiting that long for a start date but I haven’t heard from anyone since I received a phone call for the provisional offer. Maybe stuff is being done in the background or the vacancy manager is off sick, who knows but it’s a dream job. I’m more worried that they will pull the job offer after getting this far..

Hey sorry to open this thread up again, did you here back about your start date? I am in the exact same position now and feel quite nervous every day if i am expecting a call to arrange a date for this job. It is super deflating like you said. Deffo not helping the blood pressure lol.

Would be great to hear back from you and any updates you have had :)
