Cheeky to randomly approach for career advice?

Is it cheeky to randomly approach a local company for career advice? I have a strong background in account management and took a few years break after having DC. Recently I've been working as a TA but I'm ready for something more. Id be interested in working for a Financial Advisor - is it cheeky to write and ask what experience/ qualifications they would be looking for in an administrator?

Yes that's absolutely fine. Ask for a convenient time for a quick chat too

I would suggest that you have a look in Indeed and LinkedIn at similar roles. Check the career sections of large Financial Services company websites too. Some will ask for FS or similar sector experience so depending on where you worked you might have easily transferable skills.
No harm emailing of course but if they are under resourced they might not respond unless they have a vacancy. All the best with your job hunt.

What's the worst they can do/think? (maybe they won;t reply?) what's the best? Do it. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
