Moving between NHS Trusts and salary

Hi

I am top of band 3 and have accepted a new job at another Trust, band 3. Does anybody know if when I start my new job if my salary will be top of band 3 or will I have to start at the bottom and progress up again?

You usually start at the bottom unless you negotiate otherwise before you accept the role.

you'll start at the top of the band you're on - you don't go back down to the bottom of the band when you start at another Trust. Good luck!

Also make sure they're aware of previous service for annual leave entilement too. They sometimes need you to evidence this with pension statements or similar. They'll tell you what they accept.

A report will be requested between trusts which reflects pay, banding, training annual leave. You will start with the same benefits as you left as long as there is no break in service.

Pay banding, long service entitlements etc all transfers with you in NHS
