I’m a few weeks into my new job and have had to call in sick this week, I’ve taken 2 days out for a stomach bug. I’m rarely ill and this is the first time this year it’s hit me obviously new job won’t know that and they have been fine but I’m just here feeling really guilty and I’m overthinking that it’s going look negative. I absolutely love this new job and haven’t felt this way for years in a career. I know I will make up once I’m back in but I still feel bad and the fact it’s so close to Christmas having to take a couple of days out!!

Has anyone else had a similar experience of being off Ill so soon after starting?

If you were genuinely too ill to go in and it’s not something you do often then it’ll be fine and like you say you’ll make up for it when back. It’s those who go off early on for slight colds and repeatedly go off in the first few months that have the problem.

If you're sick, you're sick.
I would only be concerned if there were repeated instances - and there is likely a company policy to the same end.
If you're not sick again within the policy time lines, you won't have a problem.
