As in the title really. It's never ending and about how to do things mostly. It's a confidence thing perhaps. It's getting to me.

Ask them what they think they should do although this is probably easier with a Teams call.

can they refer to clear processes and do you have structured catch ups? I find that happens in companies with little documentation

DandyTealSeal · 11/12/2024 19:53

What are they emailing about? I have started saying, I’m going to leave that for you to decide because both of us know they know the answer. I can’t pretend it’s improving their confidence but I’m trying! I don’t think it’s anything to do with me as a manager, they just have zero confidence or motivation.

This could be me Blush

If it helps I'm asking because
I need reassurance because I have massive imposter syndrome
Or a customer has just been really awful and I'm doubting myself AND upset
I worry I'll make a huge mistake and get sacked without warning

Ask them to save up all their questions for a ten minute call once a day.

Not enough info to tell. Have they been taught what to do in the first place?

noobiedoobie · 11/12/2024 20:03

Are they in a probation period? I've seen employees be really anxious during that period.

What management training have you had? - serious question, a lot of people are promoted to the point they have direct reports but aren't given the training to develop the skills.
