Can anyone share what are the layoffs packages like in the UK? What do companies offer?

I suspect you are right and the OP meant redundancy, but "layoff" and redundancy are actually very different things. Perhaps the OP could clarify the question and why they are asking? Because the actual answer is "as long as a piece of string" - there are many companies that offer more than the statutory amount for redundancy.
