Awful interview

Haven't done one for over four years. It was on teams with several people. I used Umm and Like a lot. I bored myself towards the end.

I have no idea why I self sabotaged it so badly. I've been ill for a few days and just couldn't get the drive.

It was actually a dream organisation which on paper I am a great fit for and highly unlikely the role will come up again.

Trying hard to see the silver lining but it's slim.

Oh no! Truthfully did you fuck up just because you were ill, or were you not as prepared as you should have been?

I fucked up the prep because I was ill.

Any chance you could send a follow-up message to explain, and say you'd be super interested in similar roles?

For next time, definitely worth asking to reschedule an interview when you've been ill!

It's all through a portal so I don't think I can message them directly.

If it's any consolidation, I had a rubbish interview today too and got the rejection email at 5pm....

Interview number 12. (and possibly last of 2024 in this quarter) had a tendency to over talk.

Can you tell by their facial expressions? It was sort of like I’d met good cop/bad cop.

Gutted as I thought I’d aced an interview a few weeks back to be invited back a few days later when I could barely speak, loved both the interviewers but with reality setting in, it wasn’t my thing so you can never be so sure.

I wish they would hurry up and send my rejection. They said they'd let people know today if they had been shortlisted for second interview so maybe that's it, I'm just ghosted.

I have another one tomorrow. They wanted an entire piece of work beforehand, the liberty.

@Ladymuck2022 one of the interviewers actually got up from the call and went to fix the printer.

I have managed to compartmentalise it today.

I'm great when the stars align.

Oh I'm sorry OP, it's always such a crap feeling.

I had an interview within my team recently. I was too nervous and despite being asked to apply, got rejected because of how badly it went. I could hardly remember my own name and despite having been doing the role for the past few months, I couldn't answer any of the questions properly. Mortifying! Especially as I'm normally fairly good at interviews.

It'll pass, these things happen, try not to dwell or beat yourself up! Sorry you've been feeling poorly.
