Keeping On Apprentice after exam

I run my own business and took on an apprentice, she finishes her apprenticeship in April and I don't intend keeping her on.
I don't really have anything against her but looking into the future I just don't think there will be enough work to warrant keeping her on.
When she joined me I didn't guarantee a job at the end of it but I'm now worried she may try and take me to court or something.
What are the laws on this?

I think all you need to do is manage expectations. Start the conversation now about your plans, she may be assuming you will keep her on and it would be cruel to drop that bomb last minute.
Be transparent and give her the opportunity to look for other things for when her apprenticeship comes to an end.
