Which job

I find that choosing which job to do is such a huge decision, as it impacts your entire life.

Money aside, which is obviously important, your job affects your life in so many ways.

My last job - I chose a Job that was very wrong for me.it looked good in the description but it was awful, wasn't right for me. It was way too stressful. And there were also things that I couldnt know were bad before I got there- the manager was absolutely horrible.

I find If you take a bad job, it really affects your life as you can't just leave, you need money. And it doesn't look good if you level a job too quickly. But the job breaks you down while you're there.

Anyway after six months of horrendous stress in that job, I feel I've been there a reasonable amount of time to now look for another job.

I just don't want to make the same mistake again and jump into another extremely stressful awful job.

I'm just wondering how to choose better!
Any advice, thank you so much.

Leaving aside the horrible manager (because it's hard to predict in advance what colleagues will be like) I think you should try to analyse what makes the job so wrong and stressful for you. Sales targets that are impossible to meet? A culture of rule breaking when you're a natural rule follower? Being given tasks that you don't feel qualified to perform? If you can identify why the job is so unsuitable, that could help you to avoid picking another unsuitable job. I think it's also worth thinking about whether, with the benefit of hindsight, there were signs before you took the job that it might not be a good move.

Yes I understand.

two wrongs don’t make a right. From the fat into the fire speaks volumes in my world.

never really signed up to the old dross saying… easier to get a job if you are in one.

I don’t really want to get to 31st December 2025 having served over 18 months in a temporary job yet commands a months notice but given the strength of some mis sold/advertised jobs of recent I’m entirely unsure what the future looks like.
