Recruiter - thoughts please

I spoke to a recruiter yesterday and said I'd send over a covering letter for a role for first thing this morning. It turned out to take longer than I expected. They had reached out to me on LinkedIn originally and I didn't go in to check the messages. When I looked at 3pm they'd emailed at 9.15 to ask when I thought I'd send it over.

I sent it over at 3pm with an apology. Thoughts please- have I blown it with the recruiter? I can actually just apply direct for the job and the deadline is today, so I'm thinking give it another 15 minutes and just do that. Do I mention the recruiter or not in the direct application?

You don't need the rec con unless they have been specifically retained to recruit the role. Which in this case it sounds like they haven't. You don't need to mention them - just send it on in! Good luck!

Thanks they got back to me and sent it off. I was stressing over nothing.
