Work Christmas do - Would you go?

My workplace is trying to organise I Christmas lunch at a restaurant very similar to Nandos but more expensive- no festive menu or set menu, so someone will book a table, order, split the bill and back to work

There were times in the past that even with set food menu paid in advance, it was complicated paying the rest of the bill as people can’t remember what drinks ordered or denied they ordered x, y, z and some just left some cash on the table before leaving not taking service charge etc

I expect this time will be worse as food and drinks will be ordered on the day

Also not keen on paying my own for a Work Christmas do tbh. They are not my friends/family and I wouldn’t choose to have lunch with them on a normal day so why for Christmas? Also I don’t agree with SLT setting up a ‘team building thing’ from people’s pockets because that is what it really is.

I’m always presen for office/training/development days etc but this year I want to skip this whole Christmas thing

I'd say I was on a diet and would stay in the office that day.
