Long-term sick + Maternity leave

Hi,
I’ve been on long term sick since July with anxiety and depression. There have been a multitude of reasons - some escalated personal issues, some work related stress.
I have just found out I am 6 weeks pregnant.
I don’t feel ready to return to work as it is, but now the thought of being pregnant and trying to cope with the stress I deal with in work, makes me worry about my health during pregnancy.

Has anyone been on long-term sick and then taken maternity leave?

Any advice would be much appreciated,
thanks!

Are you getting company sick pay or statutory sick pay? Your wages in weeks 17-25 of pregnancy will determine your maternity pay. If you are on SSP at that time then you will not qualify for Statutory maternity pay and would have to claim Maternity Allowance instead.
