Managing team In another country - any experience?

I’m not sure if this should be in ‘work’ or ‘living overseas’. I’ve been told that the team that I manage (in the Middle East - I live here) will be dismantled and the work moved to Cairo. The expectation is that I’ll travel there for one week a month. My team here is mostly Indians, and they work incredibly hard and their English is perfect. They don’t get paid a lot, so the savings will be minimal.

Has anyone managed a fully remote team in a different country? Right now, I’m tempted just to leave. It’s not what I signed up for, and although technically there’s nothing stopping me travelling once a month, I’m menopausal and just cba. I am midway through recruitment and the standard of applicants is poor.

You can use tool like workstatus for managing remote team from anywhere.

Do you mean logistical/practical tips or more management tips? I manage a team in Africa. Love them.

I think your issue will be that you will be working with mostly Egyptian who I assume will have a different work ethic to the people you currently manage. Yed I am generalising but not without experience

I manage teams all over the globe. We all WFH so it really doesn’t matter where in the world the team I manage work from.
