Timetable/ Staffing for teachers- TIMELINE

I was wondering at what point schools review the timetable/ staffing for the following academic year. I have a fixed term contract until April but potentially there there could be an extension once they know the need for the next academic year.

When would that normally be? I could imagine it to be early as adverts would need to be written, teachers hired or current staff on fixed term contracts offered an extension…

This is how we do it:
Yr9 options with us are January, sixth form options are similar, from there we can begin to build, yr7 numbers cone through Feb I think, from all that we can start to put together 'wish list' of teaching groups, curriculum leaders then put staffing preferences in just after Easter and then first draft of timetable - but may 1/2 term us teaching resignation deadline so nothing confirmed until after that.

As timetabler I aim for a draft in May.

They will know Feb/March the curriculum model so they will know whether they want to keep you or not.

April will be resignations for Sept though we usually get 1 or 2 surprises May HT.

Thank you so much for the answers.
It seems that after the year 9/12 options the school should have a clear understanding of their future needs.
And if they don’t want to keep ME, they would certainly need to advertise for the post before April so other teacher can give a full terms notice.

Both schools I've worked at it's February when we get the email for part timers to request days and for other members of staff to indicate their plans. Obviously nothing is set in stone until 31st may but gives them a good idea. Draft timetables are usually sorted out in may when gain time kicks in
