Hours - would you rather

Would you rather

Work 8-12 (or 9-1 etc.) every Friday

Or

Work 8-4 one Friday and have the next Friday off

And why!

I'm in the fortunate position of having some choice over my hours. The regularity of the first one appeals, but maybe it would feel more like a day off in the second one. I'm actually planning on doing some personal studying so it's not going to really be like a day off for the most part.

Option 2-you get way more flexibility with a whole day off than 1/2 day if you want to use it to do activities etc

Another vote for whole day

Depends a bit where you're at in Life doesn't it and the commute. I'd like the earlier finish while kids in primary so I can pick them up from school. And the day off /finish at 4 in secondary when they can get themselves home!

Half day. For me it'd be about the routine of it. I have a few events in my schedule that happen every other week and it's just annoying keeping track of the weeks and having to explain things like "I'll be in that day but not the next week at the exact same time". And especially when you're talking weeks in advance, it's confusing working out what weeks you'll be in and weeks you won't and then communicating that to people in a way that still respects their schedule. For me, it means I regularly end up having to come in on the week I'm not scheduled to be in because people sort of expect me to be there because I was last week and then I have to claim the time back. If it's not on everyone else's schedule then it ends up being... with a half day, you do r have that problem. You just do everything in the morning.

Maybe if your business is really careful about making sure to respect your time in that way but that has not been my experience!
