Hi!

Im currently looking to change my career path to something that will suit my family life better within a school office/admin role.

I’ve been offered an interview next week. Has anyone got any advice how to prepare? Anyone in this type of role, what questions you got asked? What the short administrative task/test could entail? Any tips. I’m freaking out! Or anything online that could help me prepare through practice.

thanks so much.

Safeguarding will be a big part so read up on that.

They may give something like a priority in tray test so give you a few scenarios and you answer what order and how you would resolve them. They may also do a word/excel exercise.

Good luck.

I work in a school office.
Safeguarding is the most important- find out who the Safeguarding lead is, confirm you won't keep secrets and report, report, report.
Basically think child first and everything else second.
If you have to write a letter for a trip think about what children need to bring water bottle, packed lunch and appropriate clothing sun hat & suncream in summer and coat etc in Autumn/winter.
Good luck!

How you'd deal with an angry parent demanding to speak to the head teacher.

Confidentially, the obvious ones but also things like locking the PC when unattended, not leaving sensitive paperwork in view of visitors, etc.

Safeguarding will definitely come up, so brush up on the DSL and what you'd do if someone made a disclosure.

Good luck 🤞

Inbox task? Safeguarding/child protection is always at the top. Everything else waits for that.
