Managing by humiliating

Has anyone ever had a manager that said humiliation was part of their management style and to deal with it? Why do they do this or why did they in your case? Is it a power thing?

I had similar, I found that the best approach was to thank the manager for this learning opportunity. I then told the manager that I will be creating an ongoing list of errors the manager makes. At the next "learning opportunity" perhaps we could compare notes?
