What does it mean to score 23 in the personal statement for HEO Dwp operational leader application? 23 out of what ?

That’s odd. I do a lot of sifting and the score for a PS is always out of 7.
Maybe a total score for a PS and 3-4 behaviours. Although most sifts are on PS plus one behaviour.

Did you get an interview? 4 is pass mark.

I used the solely essential criteria to write the PS 1250.
Might be the evidence might not have been HEO level but I was wondering about the nominal score of 23.
What is 23 out of. Is it just a scaler ?

In our department (not dwp), at sift stage, the personal statement is scored against the essential criteria with a score of either 0, 1 or 2 (not demonstrated, minimal demonstration, full demonstration). So if there were 15 essential criteria requirements, you could score up to 30 points. Depending on the scores, we'd then decide who to take through to interview. If this was the case, it is usually explained in the application guidance.

Noodlesnotstrudels · 09/11/2024 21:42

The interview behaviours are then scored out of 7 for each behaviour. So if there were 4 behaviours assessed, a total potential score of 28.

I attended an info session by GCS.
The facilitators or sifters explained the process and gave fantastic in-depth advice on the sift process at the personal statement and the management test stare. Then followed by the interview stage where behaviours are assessed. I have always believed the scores are 1-7 for both stages. I have seen another post here for the same question ii have asked. To be honest I had a feeling I could not add enough detail to demonstrate what was required. I am strong on policy and operations communicates with empathy and disciplined, constructive challenger change agent proud of my work team s and robust in my desire to support claimants and to drive performance through quality work. I did give specific examples of how i improved errors in operational guidance just last month for universal credit learning pages updated ( essential learning for England and Wales ) mentions all the steps and Ghs subject matter experts I brought together update the pages on our intranet learning pages. I also mention coaching colleagues ,team leaders and leading and providing expertise to colleagues stakeholders and providers.
