No idea what to do?

So I got made redundant from a role/trade that I was in for 12 years.

I decided to try something completely different and I’ve been there about a month. The hours are shorter, option to work from home sometimes, no weekends and the people are lovely. The only problem is I hate the job - I dread going to work and I can’t imagine myself doing it for a long term.

i miss the constant people contact and the fast pace of my old job. Downsides are the hours are longer and weekends are sometimes involved.

am I stupid for giving up all the pros of my new job even though I don’t like it?
im so confused what to do and I feel so guilty as everyone at the new job have been lovely

Well, no, you probably can't do a job that you hate forever. That said, it's only been a month - I'd want to give it a bit longer before making any big decisions.

I'd also be considering salary, pension, opportunities to progress etc. as part of my decision.

Hmm, you do sound a bit miserable though - you could start looking for a new job in the meantime anyway.

@LizzieVeraker yes I was thinking of giving it longer but I’ve had an opportunity come up that would be gone if I left it .
So torn what to do

I'd be tempted by the opportunity (depending on the details) as well TBH...
