I am a 40 something carer to my dd now 12 (I have another dc). I gave up work when DD was born to be a carer due to her disability and another health condition she has.
She is at school regular school hours (unless sick or her her condition flares up significantly). She is due to have a couple of operations in the next year with a bit of recovery time. During holidays she is with me pretty much all day everyday.
The recent budget has obviously increased the amount I can earn as a carer whilst still receiving Carers Allowance and I think I'd like to take advantage of this.
Realistically, would anyone want to hire me, given I've not worked for so long and have obvious commitments? `And what jobs could I do?
I have a business degree and have had job in the past, nothing high flying, but have worked in retail, hospitality and as an assistant buyer.
