Passive Aggressive Male Boss

So, today I was caught in traffic and so I was 5 minutes late getting in to start my 30 min Toil. I was deducted 15 minutes of toil. I never leave on time at the end of the day and feel this was harsh. I am always in work on time to start work but never arrive early.
Thoughts please?

Yep, it cuts both ways.

Make sure that you leave at your exact end of shift time, regardless of what you're doing.

If your boss wants you to stay and finish something, even 5 mins worth, then you tell him that unless it's added to your TOIL (15 mins added, not 5), then no you're not staying to finish it, it'll get done tomorrow after you start your shift again.

He'll learn the hard way that 'goodwill' needs BOTH sides to co-operate to make it work.
