Civil Service Jobs

Hi
Anybody have experience with Civil Service Jobs?
Back in May I applied for a job and was placed on the reserve list.
in August I applied for another role, different sector, but my preferred role. I am due to hear back by 31st October.
Now here is the problem, I got an offer today, automatically thought it was for the second job and accepted. I’ve now realised it was the first job!
question is….. will I still be considered for the second job even though I have accepted the first? Or do I need to withdraw from the first?
its difficult because I will go for job one if I am not offered job two….. but if I with draw from job one I could end up with no offer at all.

If they are two different applications, they will be dealt with separately so even if you applied for two different roles at the same government department you could potentially be offered two positions.

I wouldn't withdraw yet as like you said you could end up with none.

In my experience people accept then find vetting takes so long that they find other jobs and withdraw months later. It might also be a conditional offer pending vetting so its not actually yours till you get a start date.

Hang on and don't do anything yet.
