PIP - what are my options

On a PIP - half way through. Been pepper with praise recently (after me saying their feedback has not been balanced against my successes as this is the first time I’ve ever experienced this). Anyway after a meeting preparing for a leadership meeting, I get another ‘documentation’ email saying I still had opportunities for improvement. It’s clear im being managed out. I thought we had aligned on the things my manager has mentioned weeks ago.
what are my options? I’m so stressed with it all. Interviewing but nothing is moving quick enough and feel I’m running out of time. The whole process has been badly managed from the start. Business is not going well and there have Been redundancies and people being ‘asked’ to retire

Unfortunately there aren’t many options really. How long have you worked there for?

Your PIP should list clear, measurable objectives that you need to achieve with a timeline as to when you are expected to achieve them by.

It should not be wooly statements about 'needing improvement' without clearly defining what this would look like.

If you think they are doing this to avoid paying you redundancy then I would really seek support from ACAS and Citizen Advice.

Unfortunately it sounds like the best solution for you would be to negotiate a settlement as they clearly are a company in trouble and they want you out...

They did change it to have measures but I still didn’t agree as there was still a caveat it was up to LM to decide if I’d done enough to pass the PIP. I said it was as still subjective and they just said didn’t matter -
period was x to x and had been having an ok few weeks until this new documentation email to say good you’ve had a couple of successes but will oops for improvement. Half way through and for her to be so gushing in front of everyone and to send me an email like that is so below the line.
